In the May issue of the Chinese military magazine “Naval and Merchant Ships” (NMS) appeared an article entitled “How to use the butterfly effect to lead to the fall of the independence force of Taiwan”. The “butterfly effect” describes the slightest changes – such as the flutter of the butterfly wings – can have huge and unpredictable consequences.
According to the NMS article, China can paralyze 30 to 40 key infrastructure nodes in Taiwan to paralyze social life through a chain reaction. He calls it “victory without war”.
Chinese expert Adrian Geiges considers such a plan to attack as “very likely”.
– says in an interview with the daily Bild.
China perceives Taiwan as a “rebellious region”which – if Beijing deems it necessary – is to be re -included in China, even using force.
Aims of the attack on Taiwan
Researchers who do not work directly at the request of the Chinese government, but clearly formulate their attack plans in accordance with the intentions of XI Jinping, have distinguished several attack goals:
- According to NMS The Taiwan energy network is particularly susceptible to attacks: 83 percent energy comes from fossil sources, and 96 percent energy is imported. 15 power plants and 10 telecommunications centers in the north of the country are considered easy to attach key objects
- Blackout risk. Attacks on three central power stations could cause an extensive power failure in the north of the country, which would have consequences for supply and communication
- According to NMS, afternoons on business days, periods preceding typhoon, periods of election or holidays – i.e. periods of increased psychological susceptibility, would be particularly risky.
This is how attacks could take place
Scientists propose a combination of various means in Multi -stage attack to cause maximum confusion and make it difficult to take remedies.
They include: precise rocket strokes, cyber attacks for control systems, electromagnetic weapons (EMP), special units for sabotage on site, and even staged natural disasters, such as landslides, which could be used as a cover for targeted attacks.

– The plan to attack the infrastructure, developed in the Chinese military magazine, should also arouse anxiety in Germany – warns “Bilda” firmly.
China and Russia are close allies, “who openly declare that they want to overthrow the current world order. (…) This also applies to us: if China and Russia want it, maybe one day in Germany everything will happen in place.”
