ZUS assigns a special pension to people born in these years


A special pension, which ZUS reminds is, is a non -obvious form of support for people who have worked in difficult conditions for many years or in a special nature.
Interestingly, the scope of work and professions performed is very wide. For example, a special pension may be entitled to chorges after many years of work, as well as employees in asbestos processing or metallurgists.

“Work in special conditions is work with significant harmfulness to health and a significant extent or work requiring high psychophysical fitness For sake of own safety or environment, e.g. underground work, in asbestos processing, lead and cadmium production, work of rescuers in a mountain volunteer ambulance ” – explains the Social Insurance Institution.
Work in a special character is, among others Work of employees of customs administration bodies and state control bodies, work of journalists, artists, teachers or professional soldiers.
In the case of people who performed work in difficult conditions or a special character, and were born in 1949-1969, they have the opportunity to retire to a special, early retirement.

As explained by Forsal.pl, To apply for a special pension, the following conditions must be met:
- It is necessary to reach retirement age, which is lower than the standard retirement age
- The required period of work should be documented (20 years for women and 25 years for men). This applies to both the seniority from which the contributions were paid, as well as the period when the contributions mentioned were not paid (it could be, for example, the period of receiving unemployment benefit);
- It should be proved that work was performed in special conditions or of a special nature;
- In the case of belonging to OFE, people applying for a special pension must give up membership in the fund or transfer the funds accumulated in it to ZUS.

The above conditions – as the Social Insurance Institution reminds – fulfilled at the moment on December 31, 2008, entitles to apply for a special pension.
In order to apply for the said benefit, you should download, complete and submit to the Social Insurance Institution a pension application (EMP) together with information on contributory and non-contributory periods (ERP-6). In addition, the documents should be attached to confirm:
- periods of employment in special conditions or in a special nature,
- contributory and non -contributory periods, e.g. employment certificates, employment certificates, certificates of the period of receiving unemployment benefit or e.g. being on parental leave,
- The remuneration that was received during periods of employment or insurance.
