After the Golden candidate claimed at the closing of the ballot boxes that he is the winner of these elections, George Simion sent a message on Sunday night to acknowledge that he had lost the elections.
“I would like to congratulate my counter-candidate, Nicușor Dan, won the elections, was the will of the Romanian people. I want to thank the over 5 million Romanians who have confidence in me. He asked his voters not to abandon the fight.
“It is time to continue our struggle for justice, for the truth, for the natural family, for the Christian faith and for freedom. Nicușor Dan, an independent candidate, obtained 6,104,979 votes (53.78%), at the second round of presidential elections, shows the data published, in real time, on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority, after centralizing 20,037 minutes (99.76%).
George Simion, the candidate of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians, obtained 5,247,092 votes (46.22%).
