A 24 -hour SOR for animals with an intensive care unit will be created in the veterinary clinics of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław. The City Hall signed an agreement in this matter and the university. Seniors and large families will have discounts on animal treatment.

In a statement sent on Tuesday, the university announced that the letter of intent signed by the President of Wrocław Jacek Sutryk and the rector of UPWR prof. Krzysztof Kubiak assumes cooperation, which will result in the launch of a clinic providing 24 -hour rescue veterinary assistance with an intensive care unit.

“Solving socio-economic problems and joint problems, including with the local government, initiatives are elements of our mission. We want to be a university actively participating in the development of Wrocław, to feel the city of co-responsible. Therefore, I am proud that we will build a place needed, important and modern,” said prof. Kubiak.

Later this year, the renovation of rooms intended for SOR will begin. The university has over half a million zlotys for this purpose. The clinic is to be open at the beginning of next year.

“We plan to hire only veterinarians specialized in the treatment of emergency states, the best specialists who will have the most modern equipment at their disposal,” said the Vice -dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UPWR prof. Artur Niedźwiedz.

The apparatus for continuous kidney -ups and therapeutic plasma exchange will be complemented by a plasma replacement used in cases of acute kidney damage, poisoning and immunological disorders.

“There is currently no veterinary clinic in Poland and in this part of Europe. The city has decided to cooperate with the UPWR, because the academic unit guarantees services at the highest level. Wrocław authorities want some residents – seniors and large family card owners – to use the clinic at preferential prices” – it was written in a message. (PAP)
