Yatsenyuk Advocates Pressure on Putin for Peace Negotiations

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has argued that Russian President Vladimir Putin is only willing to end the war on his own terms, deeming any readiness for negotiations with Ukraine as false. “These are fictitious negotiations. The only way to secure peace is to apply strong pressure on Putin. We have ample tools and levers to do this. Frankly, there is no reason to reach out to Putin or call him. It is better to call President Trump,” Yatsenyuk stated.
He urged allies to remain united and emphasized that Ukraine and its partners possess sufficient strength to achieve victory and hold Putin accountable. According to the former Prime Minister, a strong political will is essential for this mission.
Yatsenyuk outlined Ukraine’s urgent needs as winter approaches, which include missile defense systems, financial assistance, and European solidarity. “We need to cover a budget deficit of approximately €70 billion for next year. Additional ammunition is required, particularly missile interceptors,” he noted.
He expressed confidence that Ukraine will endure the upcoming winter and thanked the European Union for its political and financial support, along with NATO for its efforts in supplying ammunition to Ukrainian forces.
Yatsenyuk concluded by affirming, “If we stand together, and we will, we Ukrainians will fight, win the war, protect Europe, and restore global order.”
