Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki is embroiled in controversy following allegations he organized sexual services for guests during his tenure as a security guard at the Grand Hotel in Sopot. The claims, reported by Onet, have prompted Nawrocki to file a lawsuit against the publisher, Ringier Axel Springer Polska, asserting that the article infringed on his personal rights.
In a social media post, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau commented on the reports, posing the question, “What is the correct term: pimp, escort, or gigolo?” This sparked reactions from various political figures, including Marcin Przydacz, head of the Foreign Policy Bureau, who countered with a humorous remark regarding Rau’s language.
The contentious article, titled “Karol Nawrocki and the Secrets of Grand Hotel,” was originally published in May 2025 and updated in September 2026. It cites testimonies from former colleagues who allege Nawrocki participated in facilitating sexual encounters for hotel guests, profiting from these arrangements.
Details from a court hearing in Warsaw on October 27 revealed witness Natasha Geldon, a former hotel security employee, recounted seeing Nawrocki enter the building with a man and a woman, who later took the elevator to guest floors. She noted that assisting guests in this manner was not part of a security guard’s duties and claimed Nawrocki suggested he could earn extra money from introducing women.
Co-author of the investigative report, Andrzej Stankiewicz, confirmed that two sources cited in the Onet article testified in court, reinforcing the claims made in the publication. Nawrocki’s civil trial is scheduled for January 18, 2027, where he is required to appear in person. Additionally, a separate criminal case has been opened against the authors of the article.
