Taco Bell Returns to Poland After 33 Years of Absence

Taco Bell, the American fast-food chain known for its Mexican-inspired cuisine, is making a comeback in Poland after an unsuccessful attempt in 1993. This year, multiple new outlets are planned to launch in various shopping malls throughout Warsaw and in Wrocław.

Owned by Yum! Brands, Taco Bell’s expansion in Poland is managed by AmRest, one of Europe’s largest restaurant operators, which also oversees brands like KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, and Burger King. AmRest announced that three new Taco Bell restaurants will be opened by the end of the year.

According to AmRest’s CEO, Luis Comas, the decision to reintroduce Taco Bell to Poland is part of the chain’s international growth strategy, as well as the untapped potential of the Polish food market. Recent studies indicate a significant recognition of Taco Bell among Generation Z and Alpha consumers in Poland, highlighting the brand’s focus on attracting younger demographics.

Taco Bell was founded by Glen Bell, who first opened a hot dog stand before recognizing the growing popularity of Mexican cuisine, particularly tacos. The first Taco Bell location was established in California in 1962, and it has since become a prominent name in the fast-food industry, with a global presence driven by Taco Bell International, formed by Yum! Brands in 2015 to oversee international expansion.
