The day after the jersey sale, a 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello, previously owned by Jordan, was auctioned off for $2.7 million. Jordan had purchased the car in 1997 and drove it after Game 6 of the Finals that same year, where the Bulls triumphed over the Jazz 4-2. In the decisive Game 6, Jordan scored 39 points.

According to John Temerian, who purchased the Ferrari, this sale signifies a generational shift in the collector’s market regarding what items are valued and how they are perceived as investment assets.
