Zelensky Reviews Long-Range Operations and Medical Forces Reform
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with military leaders to assess the country’s long-range operational capabilities. He affirmed the commitment to enhance these capabilities, stating, “We are preparing to expand our long-range capabilities.”
Zelensky highlighted ongoing efforts in Ukraine to develop countermeasures against Shahed missiles, which are crucial given the current conflict situation. He and military official Andriy Drapaty discussed key priorities for active military actions on the front.
The president also addressed the recruitment of foreign volunteers into the military, emphasizing the importance of recognizing those who wish to contribute to Ukraine’s defense. He stated, “Everyone who feels that our defense of Ukraine’s independence has global significance should have the proper opportunity to demonstrate their commitment and receive appropriate recognition.”
Additionally, Zelensky announced upcoming decisions aimed at reforming leadership and response systems within the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, following a change in command. On September 14, he signed decrees releasing Anatoliy Kazmyrchuk from his position as commander of the Medical Forces and appointing military surgeon Kostyantyn Humenyuk to the role. “The main goal is to scale successful practices used in combat brigades and all effective patronage services for brigades to the maximum extent,” the president declared.
