Jamie Vardy, the 39-year-old former England international and Leicester City striker, has secured a contract to broadcast Bundesliga matches on his YouTube channel.
As the official broadcaster in the United Kingdom, Vardy will present seven Friday matches from the Bundesliga this season. The first game he will cover is the opening match on Friday, August 28, featuring defending champions Bayern Munich against Stuttgart, according to reports.
While traditional media outlets like Sky Sports and BBC hold broadcasting rights in the UK, Vardy’s agreement is part of Bundesliga officials’ strategy to attract a new audience.
Viewers will not only watch the matches but also experience the reactions from the hosts on the channel “Jamie Vardy’s Having A Party.”
“Vardy’s addition brings a unique player-led perspective to Bundesliga content, blending live football with the insights and personality of one of the Premier League’s most recognized players in recent years,” league officials stated in an announcement.
This collaboration between the German officials and the English striker is not the first of its kind. In 2025, the Bundesliga adopted a new approach, becoming the first major league in Europe to grant live broadcasting rights to content creators in the UK.
Vardy is currently a free agent after his one-year stint at Italian club Cremonese ended this summer following their relegation from Serie A. He launched his podcast in June.
Having joined Leicester City from Fleetwood Town in 2012, Vardy played a pivotal role in the team’s remarkable Premier League triumph in the 2015/16 season, scoring in 11 consecutive league matches—a record. He made his England debut at 28 and has netted seven goals in 26 international appearances.
