Investigators Uncover Fake Mobilization Cases in Ukraine with 329 Incidents

An investigation has revealed that officials at territorial centers for recruitment and social support in Ukraine were involved in falsifying information in the “Oberih” registry. Among those included in the registry were individuals who had not been mobilized, including a serviceman who had already passed away and another who has been held captive by Russia.

Authorities have placed suspicion on two former heads of regional recruitment centers in the Chernivtsi and Ternopil regions, alongside seven individuals identified as members of an organized group operating in Zakarpattia.

The highest number of fraudulent mobilization cases, totaling 329, were identified in Zakarpattia. Law enforcement reported that a deputy head of a local recruitment center organized a group that entered data about already mobilized individuals into the registry, falsely documenting their supposed repeat medical evaluations and new conscription.

Most of the suspects have been subjected to precautionary measures.
