Rescue Operation Underway After Boat Collision in Cannes

A significant rescue operation has been initiated in the bay of Cannes, near Théoule-sur-Mer, following a boat collision that resulted in at least 10 injuries and one person reported missing, according to AFP.

The incident occurred in southern France, in an area also known as the Gulf of La Napoule, prompting a substantial mobilization of emergency resources, as announced by the Mediterranean maritime prefecture on Monday morning.

“Following a collision between two recreational vessels, 10 injured individuals were taken for medical care,” the prefecture stated on platform X early Monday, while confirming that “an 11th person remains missing.”

Authorities have reported that a “major rescue operation,” involving aerial, land, and maritime assets, is currently underway off the coast of Théoule-sur-Mer.
