Missiles Strike Lviv, Search and Rescue Efforts Underway

Rescue teams search for survivors in Lviv

Emergency responders are actively searching for individuals trapped under the debris in Lviv following a missile strike early Thursday morning. Lviv Regional State Administration Head, Maksym Kozytskyy, emphasized that “there are people under the rubble. Rescuers are doing everything possible to free them as quickly as possible.”

Kozytskyy shared footage showing people being evacuated from a damaged five-story building using a crane, as access to the staircase was blocked.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi confirmed that the city was hit by a missile attack around 4:45 AM, causing significant destruction to residential structures on Patona and Vyhovskoho Streets. As of 7:58 AM, it was reported that approximately 20 individuals had been injured.

Residents are assisting rescuers in clearing the rubble, and over 20 residential buildings, as well as a school and two kindergartens, have sustained damage.

Earlier, the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had warned of the movement of cruise missiles towards Lviv. Explosions were reported across numerous regions of Ukraine, including western areas.

  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on the evening of July 30 that Russian aggressor forces were preparing for a massive strike on Ukraine, which was highly likely to occur that night.
