In a significant escalation, an oil terminal in St. Petersburg, Russia, has come under heavy attack, resulting in extensive damage and a fire at the facility. This terminal is one of the largest for oil product transshipment in the Baltic Sea and is located approximately 1,100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
