The recent ranking of Poland’s wealthiest individuals released by the weekly “Wprost” highlights a surge of new billionaires while also showing that 24 names from last year’s list have disappeared. Many of those omitted are associated with the construction industry.
According to the latest “Wprost” rankings, Łukasz Nosek, a technology investor involved in the AI sector, has emerged at the top, boasting a fortune estimated at 24 billion PLN. Nosek’s ranking rose by nine positions compared to the previous list. However, alongside these significant advancements, there are also notable declines.
Among those absent from this year’s billionaire list is Krzysztof Pruszyński, founder of Blachy Pruszyński, one of Europe’s largest roofing manufacturers. Others missing include Grzegorz Grzelak and Andrzej Walczak, founders of Atlas, a company specializing in construction chemicals. Additionally, Andrzej Zaboklicki, who established the Warsaw-based firm ZAB-BUD, also did not appear this year after debuting on the list just a year prior. The list also omits Andrzej Wiśniowski, creator of Wiśniowski, one of Poland’s largest manufacturers of gates and fences.
From the industrial sector, Marian Kwiecień, a top European producer of synthetic resins, and the Fidelus family, known for their work with Fideltronik in advanced testing systems and process automation, are also absent.
“Wprost” notes that while weaker financial performance is often a reason for falling off the list, it is not always the primary cause. In some instances, billionaires may disappear from rankings due to generational transitions and the passing of leadership to younger family members.
