Trump Threatens EU with 100% Tariffs Over Digital Services Tax

U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning on Friday, threatening to impose 100% tariffs on European Union nations if they proceed with any digital services tax targeting American companies. This threat could jeopardize existing trade agreements already in place between the U.S. and the EU, according to international news agencies, as reported by Agerpres.
Trump stated, “Numerous European countries are discussing the imminent application of a tax on digital services against American companies. Any country that imposes such a tax will face an immediate 100% tariff on all goods sent to the United States. This tariff will nullify trade agreements made with that country,” he wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.
This warning from Trump follows the recent formal approval by EU member states of a trade agreement negotiated last year with the U.S., which limits U.S. tariffs on imports from EU countries to 15%.
