The Romanian national team won on Saturday evening, score 3-0, against Georgia, in the third stage of the group stage, the last one, at the European mini-football championship hosted by Bratislava, Slovakia. The “Tricolori” paraded in front of their opponents and move on to the eighth place from the first position.
Before Saturday's duel, Virgil Bejenaru's students had a draw (1-1 with Spain) and a win (1-0 with England) at this edition of the European Championship and were already qualified for the round of 16. Also in the eighth is Georgia, which finished second in the group D standings.
Mircea Popa, Alexandru Bourceanu and Viorel Șim were the three scorers of our national team in the confrontation in Bratislava.
The “Tricolori” finished first, with 7 points, and will meet further, in the eighth, a team that finishes in third place in group B, E or F. For now, all other matches are not finished, and the opponent is not yet known. Most likely, the round of 16 match will take place on June 1.
