Minerul Lupeni is preparing for one of the most important matches in the club's recent history. The formation coached by Ionuț Moșteanu will receive the visit of Unirea Alba Iulia, on May 30, in the semifinal of the promotion barrage in League II.
The importance of the game led the local officials to take special measures to organize the game in the best conditions.
Just a few days before the duel, the Lupeni authorities started extensive works at the stadium.

The old tribune of the arena was demolished, and the workers have already started its reconstruction, so that the spectators waiting for the match can benefit from safer conditions.
The announcement was made by the mayor of Lupeni, Lucian Resmeriță, who published on social networks several images of the state of the works and the interventions carried out at the stadium.
“Minerul Lupeni, the team that unites. At the “Minerul” Lupeni Stadium, they build not just for a match, they build for the future.
On Saturday, from 17:30, at the stadium in Lupeni, we play a huge match against FC Unirea Alba Iulia. A match that can take us to one more step from League II.
But, beyond the fight on the field, there is also work in the stands. We have started the repair work on one side of the 2nd stand, in order to be able to offer better and more decent conditions to everyone who comes to this match: supporters, guests, football lovers.
Maybe everything is not perfect yet, maybe we don't have the most modern conditions, but we have something that cannot be bought: desire, commitment and respect for this club and for the people who step on its threshold. Saturday, 5:30 p.m., EVERYONE for the MINER!”, wrote the mayor of Lupeni, Resmeriță Lucian.

Minerul Lupeni ended the season in 2nd place in Series 3 of League III, a series won by SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea, a team that obtained direct promotion to League 2.
