Marcin Romanowski did not return to Poland. His office is still publishing

The financial report, signed electronically by the MP at the beginning of February 2026, was accessed by the jakglosuja.pl portal. The documents were received by the Department for Deputies' Offices and raised an avalanche of questions about the validity of financing a politician who does not physically participate in the work of parliament or receive visitors.
However, the Chancellery of the Sejm explained in response to the “Fakt” daily that everything was done in accordance with the law: “The long-term stay of a Member of Parliament abroad is not a reason to withhold the payment of a lump sum for running a Member's office under the applicable legal regulations.” – officials say.
The Act on the exercise of the mandate of a deputy and senator (Article 23) obliges each parliamentarian to run an office and provides him with rigid financial instruments for this purpose.

The total budget of Romanowski's parliamentary office in 2025 (including savings from previous months) amounted to PLN 287,777.12. After deducting the unused tip, exactly PLN 281,439.93 was spent in the office in Biłgoraj.

The latest findings show that after the change in the balance of political forces in Hungary, Romanowski – together with Zbigniew Ziobro – moved to the United States, where he currently resides. Since leaving the country at the end of 2024, the politician has never appeared in Poland or in his official office in the Lublin region.
