Airbnb, the company that deals with temporary rentals, has come up with an original marketing campaign in Argentina: two lucky fans will be able to spend a night at El Monumental, the emblematic stadium of River Plate.
The lucky two will also have another surprise: Gonzalo Montiel, who scored the winning penalty in the 2022 World Championship final, will host them and challenge them to a penalty shoot-out.
According to Forbes Argentina, it's all part of a plan by the company to strengthen Buenos Aires as a global tourist destination.
A night on El Monumental: what the lucky ones will have
Only one person will gain this experience, but they will be able to take a close person with them. People will be accommodated in one of the boxes at the stadium that will be reorganized to accommodate two people. The lodge will overlook the playing field of the largest stadium in South America.
The following morning, guests will start their day with a tasting of local delicacies, with the arena lawn as a backdrop. Before departure, Montiel will welcome the two guests together with 11 other fans, who will also be able to reserve their seats for free. This formed group will visit the River Plate stadium in detail: the changing rooms, the tunnels, the playing surface. The experience will end with a game with Montiel and a courtside dinner with Argentine specialties.
“Football has marked my life and it is an honor to have the opportunity to open the doors to the fans,” Montiel said, according to the quoted source.
