“I would like to say good evening, but for me it is not good evening. Even though today we won this match, a very difficult match, as you also saw, for me at this moment my thoughts fly to Alexandru Gîț, to his situation.
Believe me, I haven't seen my players cry like that in the locker room for a long time. The sacrifice is, however, too great for the three points tonight.
In such moments, from my point of view, football no longer matters. It's too much! I don't want to accuse, even if at that moment, I don't know, maybe I said some things. Now I don't want to say more, because who knows what will come out, but…

The dramatic moment occurred at the score of 2-1 for the Volunteers, when a duel in the box led to an entry of Răzvan Gunie, after which Alexandru Gîț remained lying on the lawn, complaining of severe pain.
The intervention was immediately sanctioned by the referee, who showed the red card to Gunie. The players of both teams were visibly affected, and the game was stopped for several good minutes for the intervention of the medical teams.
