What kind of prime minister does Bolojan claim that PSD wants: “Others to screw on the back”

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated, on Wednesday evening, in an interview on TVR 1, that the current political and governmental crisis was generated by PSD, and each of the parliamentarians who will vote on the censure motion submitted by PSD and AUR against his government must ask “what comes in its place”. According to Bolojan, PSD wants “a puppet prime minister” and “others to screw around”.
“The responsibility for the crisis is in the court of the PSD, which is trying to save itself by what it is doing,” said Bolojan, also accusing the social democrats of not taking any responsibility for the situation in which the country has reached.
“First of all, the measures (of his government, no) upset all those who used the public piggy bank to mask inefficiency or waste. Always when there was a problem somewhere, there were some people who were supported by someone from the PSD. The measures to reduce the risk upset all those who took advantage,” said Bolojan, insisting that “if you don't properly stop the waste, you have no credibility.”
And regarding “some behavior in the PNL, Ilie Bolojan says that: “Since I have been the president of the party and after the presidential elections in 2024, with a low score, a good part of my colleagues understood that we must take responsibility for the situation in which Romania has reached, almost unable to pay its debts. The PNL admitted that it was our fault, the others did not admit it. I understood that if we do not change with the times, they change us the times”.
The Prime Minister refused to make predictions on the chances of the PSD-AUR motion.
“I believe that we must wait for the end of the vote and then, of course, I will be able to make considerations related to the vote or not. But at the moment we are in a governmental and political crisis, which is generated by the PSD, which has nothing to do with our interest, as a country, because any kind of crisis like this, in which you try to demolish, it remains to be seen whether it will succeed, a government of which you were part, in which you participated in all the decisions that were taken, without coming up with a solution, without putting something in place, means in fact some direct and indirect costs that the Romanians will pay in the next period. (…) Those who are working to demolish the government, if they were thinking about the interest of this country and not about the group interests of some people from the PSD leadership, they should come up with a solution”.
About what the PNL will do next, Bolojan says: “We are responsible people. In the situation where a post-motion consultation could be reached, we will take a mandate from the leadership and tell the president our point of view, which cannot be other than the one consistent with the decisions already taken.”
“This country needs good quality governments. We have lagged behind other countries not only because of historical, geographical or cultural conditions, but because many times the quality of governance has left much to be desired. Everything that has been done so far has been done with the handbrake pulled. It is good to have a parliamentary force that you can rely on, and that must be built. Today we have a complicated situation in Parliament,” the liberal leader said.
“If you have a puppet prime minister and others screwing around behind your back, something like this cannot be accepted,” emphasized Ilie Bolojan.
