12 FSB officers killed in drone attack on command center in Donetsk

The commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine, Robert “Madiar” Brovdi, said that Ukrainian troops struck a command center of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) in the occupied city of Donetsk, in an attack that left at least 12 dead and 15 wounded among Russian officers, Ukrainian media reported.

According to him, the operation took place on the morning of April 22 and targeted a base of the FSB's Directorate of Mobile Operations, a structure he associated with Russia's counterintelligence system. The FSB is the main agency responsible for internal security and counterintelligence of the Russian Federation.

The attack consisted of eight precision strikes using FP-2 drones produced by the Ukrainian company Fire Point. They can carry loads of up to 100 kg and are used for medium-range strikes. In total, Russian losses amount to 27 members of special forces units, of which 12 were killed and 15 wounded.

The operation is part of Ukraine's broader campaign of deep strikes aimed at weakening Russian command and control structures in the occupied territories and diminishing their ability to coordinate operations behind the front.

Brovdi described the target as an operative formation of special forces of the FSB, responsible for “dirty war” operations both in the occupied territories and on Ukrainian territory. He specified that the unit carries out activities of counterintelligence, sabotage, special military missions, building networks of agents, recruitment, identification and detention of people considered disloyal, as well as physical elimination of opponents. It would also coordinate pro-Russian armed groups and be involved in attacks, arson and other clandestine actions.

The action was planned by specialists of the Center for Deep Strike Operations of the Unmanned Systems Forces, together with soldiers from the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, including the Azov unit.

The attack comes amid an increase in the intensity of long-range drone strikes and precision strikes against Russian military and security infrastructure in the occupied regions, with a focus on disrupting coordination nodes.

The operation in Donetsk follows recent deep-seated attacks carried out by the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine using FP-2 drones. Commander Brovdi previously stated that together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) he used this drone model to strike the frigate “Admiral Grigorovich” in the port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea coast.
