Tymoshenko: In the conditions of war, elections are impossible, Zelenskyi remains legitimate.
Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchyna party, said that holding elections during war is both impossible and immoral because the military will not be able to participate in the vote. She emphasized that Ukraine is a sovereign state, and only Ukrainians have the right to decide when and how the change of power will take place. According to Tymoshenko, the current conditions do not allow for fair elections that would not split the country. Additionally, she criticized the policy of turning Ukraine into a “resource center of Europe” and the transfer of national subsoil to foreign companies, stressing the need to fulfill obligations under the Budapest Memorandum.
