In Krasnoyarsk, police detained a 25-year-old local resident who, in five days, took more than 2.3 million rubles from elderly people and transferred them to scammers. The regional police reported this.
Pensioners received calls allegedly from law enforcement officers and reported that their relative had been in an accident. In order to “save” a loved one from responsibility, it was necessary to transfer the money to the arriving courier.
The first complaint was received by the police on April 11 from a 72-year-old woman. She gave 200 thousand rubles. Operatives identified the suspect and detained him on Svetlogorskaya Street not far from his house.
Another scam courier was detained in Krasnoyarsk
A man found an offer for part-time work on the Internet. The curators gave him the addresses, he took the cash and transferred it to the accounts of the scammers, keeping a percentage for himself. The detainee himself admitted to four episodes, which the victims had not previously reported to the police.
One of the pensioners, a 90-year-old resident of the Leninsky district, showed vigilance. On April 15, she realized that she was being deceived and did not open the door to the courier. So the woman saved 400 thousand rubles.
Criminal cases were opened against the detainee under articles of fraud. He was taken into custody. The police continue to find out all the episodes of his activities and look for the organizers of the scheme.
