The first restrictions on aviation fuel were introduced at the airports in Bologna, Milan's Linate, Treviso and Venice, Ansa reported on Saturday. This is the result of the US and Israel's war against Iran, which in retaliation has blocked the strategic Strait of Hormuz and is attacking the countries of the Persian Gulf.

As reported by the Italian press agency, Air BP Italia, a company specializing in aviation fuels and aircraft refueling services, explained in a statement that fuel access limits will apply at four airports until April 9.

Priority in refueling will be given to emergency medical aircraft, state flights and those lasting over 3 hours. For all others, rationed fuel distribution is planned.

The crisis on the global fuel market is the result of the military operation of the US and Israel against Iran launched on February 28 and the retaliation of Tehran, which has blocked the strategic Strait of Hormuz and is attacking the energy infrastructure of the Persian Gulf countries. (PAP)
