“With this football, I think you ruined the play-off”

The former Romanian international Basarab Panduru (55 years old) was harsh with the title champions, FCSB, after the debut in the play-out, white draw with last placed, Metaloglobus. He believes that the new technician, Mirel Rădoi, is not to blame for the result, but that FCSB, as he showed, would not have deserved to play in the play-off.

Panduru he was not at all impressed by what he saw at the National Arena in the first duel in the play-out, categorizing the match as “out of the way but weak”. However, despite losing two points, Rădoi was not disappointed with the result, explaining that he cannot do miracles in such a short time.

“Rădoi is not to blame for this match. He tried to give a direction, which was not OK at all.

The match was not weak, it was far from weak. He must change this “Turk” in football.

This is anything but football. Try to do what he thought was best. With this football, I think you're ruining the play-offs. You didn't face anyone“, said Basarab Panduru, after the match, on the show “Fotbal Show”, from Prima Sport.

You don't expect it, normally. A weak match. You expected more. I wanted to say something about the central defenders. In the last minutes, Duarte, I didn't see him go into the opponent, take the man out of the game.

He just abused the long ball. Go and try to take a man out of the game, get the ball to the rim.

You can't win like that. You expect the goal to fall from the sky, for the ball to fall on someone's head. It doesn't work like that

Some of Rădoi's ideas after the match

A game as we expected, with few spaces. The opponent was aggressive and tried to close the zones. In the first half we had possession, but we didn't have the finishes we were talking about. In the second half we were more determined.

I didn't go overboard with the combos in their box, but I can't say I'm entirely satisfied with what I showed.

It's been hard training this time and we still have work to do. I think that something that often happens in Romanian football was also seen today. You play against an outnumbered defense and you have to find solutions. We exaggerated the static crosses and gave the defenders time to organize.
