Marius Croitoru was officially introduced to FC Botoșani. The 45-year-old technician thus begins his third term on the bench of the team from the north of the country.
Marius Croitoru also trained FC Botoșani in the periods June 2019 – June 2022 and June 2023 – August 2023. The technician also had an adventure at FC Argeș and two mandates at FCU Craiova.
Marius Croitoru's agreement with FC Botoșani is valid until the end of this season, in which the team will perform in the play-out.

“Starting today, Marius Croitoru is the new head coach of FC Botoșani. Aged 45 and holder of the PRO License from December 2025, the technician signed an agreement with the “red-white-blues” valid until June 30, 2026.
Marius Croitoru coached FC Botoșani twice: in June 2019 – June 2022 and June 2023 – August 2023. Apart from FC Botoșani, Marius Croitoru also coached FCU 1948 Craiova (two terms) and FC Argeș.
Marius Croitoru's staff will include Nicole Roșca and Andrei Patache, secondary coaches, Alin Bordeanu, goalkeeper coach and Ovidiu Chiribici, physical trainer. Welcome Marius Croitoru, and to as many achievements as possible at FC Botoșani!”, says the official press release from FC Botoșani.
Marius Croitoru thus replaced Leo Grozavu, after FC Botoșani missed the access to the play-off, despite the fact that he ended 2025 in first place in the Superliga.
However, in the 9 stages of the Super League played this calendar year, FC Botoșani achieved only one victory, 3-0 with Metaloglobus, and only one draw, 0-0 with Oțelul Galați.
Thus, FC Botoșani has reached the play-out, which it will start from the 9th place, with 21 points, two behind the 7th place, occupied by FCSB, and 5 above the playoff places.
