Actress Elena Kondulainen was hospitalized in Moscow. The right side of her body was paralyzed.
These are the consequences of brain damage after a stroke she suffered four years ago. The 66-year-old Honored Artist of Russia was paralyzed on the right side of her body, had difficulty walking, had impaired memory and speech – Elena could hardly speak. In addition, the actress was constantly worried about weakness and dizziness. She was admitted to the psychoneurological department, spent 44 days there and was recently discharged.
For a month and a half, doctors rehabilitated Kondulainen: therapy, exercise equipment, massages, procedures. The process was complicated due to a fracture suffered at the beginning of the year, but the doctors’ efforts yielded results – the actress began to walk more confidently, her stability and coordination improved, she was again able to move the fingers of her right hand. Elena was discharged from the hospital and will be monitored by a neurologist and speech therapist.
