The mobile phone company informs its customers that it will operate subscription increases, writes Economica.net.

The reason cited by Orange Romania is related to inflation, and the increase would apply from April.

Prices almost 7% higher

“In order to be able to continue to offer quality services in this economic context, in which the inflation reported for December 2025 by Eurostat was 8.6%, we will have to apply a price indexation of 6.8% this year. This indexation complies with the contractual provisions, being lower than the maximum percentage of 8% provided for in the contract. The indexation will be applied monthly, at the subscription rate for contracted services (without discounts), starting from April”, says Orange, according to the quoted source.

The company also claims that “in recent years, the average annual inflation has been significant, with a harmonized index of consumer prices communicated by Eurostat for Romania: 9.7% in 2023, 5.8% in 2024 and 6.8% in 2025. This has had an impact on our costs of providing services. Until now, we have made efforts to protect the price you pay for the Orange subscription and have not applied, for any individual customer, the annual indexation of prices according to the contract”, the announcement also says.
