Employees of the weather station located on the cape Chelyuskin in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, they talked about a seal that settled nearby. The author of the telegram channel “Man from the Arctic,” Alexander, shares the details.
The story began on January 9, when a man opened the lid of the measuring hole (foot rod) and saw an unexpected guest in the water.
“I open the lid and look at the hole, and I don’t understand – there’s some kind of reflection in the water. I take a closer look, and there is a seal looking at me. I went nuts. This is the first time I’ve seen this in all my years of work,” he shares his impressions.
Since then, the animal has become a regular visitor. She was given the name Zvezdochka. Polar explorers began feeding the seal cod, and she, in turn, became the “guard” of the footpole.
However, on her last visit, the guest showed her character. “I looked at the level, and the seal attacked the rod. She grabbed it and bit it, and also makes strange sounds. She grabbed our footpole. And we thought she was good and kind,” Alexander said with humor.
