Construction resumes at the Brăila Olympic Swimming Complex. They started in 2015, but in the last 7 years they have stagnated.

Good news at the beginning of the year for Brăila, the city that produced great champions and Olympic medalists, such as Beatrice Câșlaru, Camelia Potec or Diana Mocanu. The works that should have been ready for many years will resume, given that the construction was approved in 2011, with an initial assessment of 8 million euros.

The works should be completed in approximately 8 months, as announced by Erbașu Constructions, the company that took over the project. In August 2024, Gazeta reporters walked on the site of the complex and offered a detailed material about it.

The works on the Brăila Olympic Swimming Complex are resuming

“We start the year with good news for the sports infrastructure in Romania.

The Brăila Olympic pool is back in the foreground, and the Erbașu Construction team has been assigned to continue the work on a project that the community has been waiting for for more than a decade.

Although the works have had a fragmented route over time, the project is now back in execution, and the signed contract gives us the necessary framework to take over the site in its existing form and bring it to completion in the stipulated 8 months.

The project includes complex architectural, installation, equipment, networking and exterior works so that the pool can operate to modern standards and become a safe and performing space for athletes and the community.

For Brăila, this goal represents a wait of over 14 years. For us, it is an assumed responsibility: to turn a stalled project into a sports infrastructure that will serve the city in the long term.

The project is financed by the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration through the National Investment Company and has the Brăila County Council as the final beneficiary. We build for the future. In Romania”, announced those from Erbașu Construction.
