Rapid Bucharest drew with Tertnes, the runner-up of Norway, score 32-32, in the first round of group C of the European League in women's handball.
Diana Ciucă, the goalkeeper of Rapdi, had one of the most solid performances of the match, but it was not enough for her team to get the victory. At the end of this game, the handball player highlighted the fact that the Norwegians ran a lot.
Diana Ciucă: “The opposing team ran a lot”
The goalkeeper of Rapid, Diana Ciucă, was one of the best players on the field in the match with Tertnes. This had many “parades” that stopped the victory of the Norwegians. At the end of the European League match, Ciucă spoke about this game and highlighted one aspect of the opponents' camp: the fact that they ran a lot, which made the match a difficult one.
“It's good that we recovered after the break, better a draw than a defeat. Of course, we would have liked a win, but the opposing team ran a lot. He made the game difficult for us. One good point was that we were able to keep the tempo up. Everyone wanted to play to win today. The fans are with us, we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for coming and supporting us.
I think the most difficult thing now is to stay fresh and not fall from fatigue. We will see how it will be managed, we hope to stay fresh. You have no reason, everyone knows this is the job. We know we come here to fight and to move on. We will take the best, we will learn from the worst and we will move on”, said Diana Ciucă, Rapid's goalkeeper, at the end of the match with Tertnes.
