After the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, AC Milan recorded their second consecutive draw in Serie A and risk losing even more ground to leaders Inter, coached by Cristi Chivu, who will play against Napoli in the 20th round. At the end of the game, Massimiliano Allegri (58 years old) spoke about Rafael Leao (26), the star of the team.
Rafael Leao came off the bench, as did Nkunku, who scored the equalizer against Fiorentina.
Massimiliano Allegri: “We need 34 to 36 points”
“Nkunku has important characteristics and scored as a pure striker. He plays very well in that position. Rafael Leao still does not feel very well, he could have had a greater impact in the final minutes if he had positioned himself a little more withdrawn to get face to face with the goalkeeper. We are recovering our players and I am happy”, Allegri, according to abola.pt.
He also talked about the points his team still needs to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League.
“We have to focus on ourselves. We have to get back to winning ways, there are still a lot of points to play for. We need 34 to 36 points to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. We walk calmly, without losing sight of reality.
We started by changing 55 percent of the players in the squad, we have a good start but we have to be demanding and try to improve,” he added, praising Fullkrug, who started against Fiorentina.
“He played a good game. He's talented, he just needs to develop and understand Italian football, which seems simple but requires tactical adjustments for outside players. He needs a little patience, but he has excellent qualities. He's a player who becomes important when he enters the box,” he concluded.
AC Milan are second in Serie A with 40 points, two behind Chivu's Inter, who can extend their lead tonight.
