Weapons from Germany for Ukraine. Air defense systems and drones
The first type of equipment mentioned by the website is the Iris-T air defense system mentioned by Pistorius, which has repeatedly proven its effectiveness in repelling Russian airstrikes. “Although exact plans have not been announced, it can be assumed that three such air defense systems will be transferred to Ukraine in 2026,” we read in Defense Express. Ukraine will also use German Vector reconnaissance drones from Quantum Systems. This is equipment that uses artificial intelligence and an integrated WASP system to detect enemy artillery fire. The first unmanned aerial vehicles of this type were tested on the Ukrainian front in 2025.
“We can also assume that the financing of Ukrainian “deepstrike” drones, such as the An-196 Lyutyi, will continue. Last year, Germany already provided funds for their production, so when the deliveries of these batches end, they can support new ones,” we read on the Defense Express website.
In 2026, five Lynx infantry fighting vehicles should also reach Ukraine. This equipment, produced by the German concern Rheinmetalall, has already been tested in combat conditions in 2025.
