On board the fallen Embraer there were several families from Azerbaijan and Chechnya who were flying to their relatives in Russia for the New Year.
According to Mash, these are the Gistarov brothers, Ibrahim and Rashid (pictured), as well as sister Rana Eznaeva. Relatives were waiting for them in Grozny, but now they cannot send photos of their loved ones for identification because the hotline is jammed. Also on board was Angbazov's family friend Maleika. There is no connection with her either.
