He has plans with the Steel in 2026 as well

In an interview published on the club's social platforms, at the end of the year, Joao Lameira gave a grateful speech, stating that he has common goals with Oțelul Galati.

“It was a very good year, I think, for the club, for me personally and for all the players who were here. And next year we want to maintain this level. Last year was very good for us in the spring, we finished the championship well.

This year we changed the team a lot, a lot of new players, from Portugal and I think it's good, it's good for me, because of course I like to have players here who speak my language. But I think they bring even more quality to the team to make it a very good season,” said Lameira.

Asked about a possible departure, the Portuguese replied: “I can't say anything. We'll see what happens, what's best for me and the club, and then we'll make a decision. I hope we can maintain this level. We are doing a lot of good things and we need to take this further next year. And if possible, let's make it even better. Because every day we can be better at something. That is my wish for the coming year.”

I just want to thank all the supporters so far. We need them. It is very important for us when they are with us in the stadium and we feel their support. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
