The citizens of Constanța will pay higher taxes and fees from January 1, 2026. The project for setting taxes and fees for next year, which also contains the 200 lei tax for drivers in Constanța, was adopted on December 23

According to the voted project, the tax on residential buildings increases by 50-80%. Also, the sanitation fee will be 28 lei per person next year. This year it was 20 lei, and last year, 8 lei.

Among the taxes provided for 2026 is the occupancy fee of 200 lei for occupying the public domain, according to Radio Romania Constanța. USR councilors submitted an amendment to eliminate the 200 lei tax, but it was rejected, with 9 votes “for”, one “against” and 17 abstentions.

At the same time, a fee of 500 lei is introduced for apartment owners in Mamaia and the Holiday Village who rent as hotels.
