TikTok has stopped working in the US. 170 million people were left without videos of cats and cooking.
On January 17, the country's Supreme Court upheld the law banning the Chinese social network because its owner, ByteDance from the Middle Kingdom, refused to sell the application. The judges decided that these are big risks for national security, and freedom of speech against this background is not so important.
ByteDance wrote in an official statement that everything could change with Trump’s official assumption of office – the company thinks that it will be possible to reach an agreement with him. In the meantime, the application has disappeared from all download catalogs.
