For almost 40 years, Ukrainian plastuns have been supporting the scouting tradition of passing on the Light of Bethlehem, and this year it is being delivered to different parts of the country using UZ trains for the fifth time. Thanks to railway routes, the fire travels quickly and safely across regions, uniting and warming the hearts of Ukrainians.
Every year, train stations become the place where it all begins: the first lamps are brought here, from here the trainees set off on their further journey, and passengers take the fire home as a symbol of peace, faith and mutual support.
“Year after year, the Bethlehem fire reminds us of the importance of unity and support, of the struggle between light and darkness. Despite the challenges and difficulties on the eve of the Christmas holidays, Ukrainians continue to give each other light and the warmth of their own hearts. We will overcome the darkness with light!” – the message says.
