Someone damaged the track on the Dęblin-Warsaw route. Tusk: It is possible that this is an act of sabotage

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that he is in constant contact with the Minister of Internal Affairs regarding the destruction of a section of the track on the Dęblin-Warsaw route. As he noted, it is possible that we are dealing with an act of sabotage.


On Sunday morning, the train driver reported by telephone irregularities in the railway infrastructure in the vicinity of the town of Żywyn, poviat. Garwoliński, near the Mika railway station – informed the Provincial Police Headquarters in Radom. According to the Masovian police, preliminary inspection of the track showed damage to a part of it.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the matter on Sunday afternoon. In an entry on the platform, X assured that he was in constant contact with the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration regarding the destruction of a section of the track on the Dęblin-Warsaw route.
“It is possible that we are dealing with an act of sabotage. No one was injured. The activities of the relevant services are ongoing,” wrote the Prime Minister.
Jacek Dobrzyński, the spokesman for the Minister Coordinator of Special Services, told PAP that police and Internal Security Agency officers have been investigating the circumstances and causes of this incident since the morning. – The matter is treated as an absolute priority – he emphasized. – This is the only information I can provide at this stage – he added.
PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA reported on the X portal that the circumstances of the incident would be clarified, among others: by the railway commission, and repairs will begin after the services are completed. The company added that the Warsaw – Lublin railway line is passable and that traffic between Sobolewo and Żywyn runs on one track. She also pointed out that until the timetable is restored, delays may be approximately 10 minutes.
Karolina Gałecka, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, said earlier on Sunday that services were working on site under the supervision of the prosecutor. As she wrote then on the X platform, “at the moment there are no grounds to talk about the intentional action of third parties.” (PAP)
