At least 30 people were killed in the attacks in the north of the Gaza Zone, including a six -year -old child killed in hitting the campsite of refugees – wrote the daily “Haarec”, citing reports of local journalists.
In the south of the Gaza Zone, at least 21 fatalities were recorded, including four children – added the newspaper.
In earlier messages of the Ministry of Health, it was reported that most of the victims of the new Israeli offensive were civilians, including women and children. The Israeli army reported on Wednesday that about 350 members of Palestinian terrorist organizations were killed since the truce.
Resumption of Israel's operation in the Gaza Strip
Israel resumed the fighting on March 18, interrupting the truce lasting less than two months. The army conducts land surgery in the south and north, enlarging the buffer zone surrounding the Gaza Zone along its borders. Civilians were ordered to evacuate in these areas. According to the UN, about 0.5 million from about 2.1 million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip were resettled due to the new campaign.
Defense Minister Israel Kac announced on Wednesday that the army would remain in these areas indefinitely, even after the fight against Hamas.
The Gaza Zone is ruined by the war of nearly a year and a half. Israel cut off the supplies of help and electricity before breaking the truce, which, according to assistance organizations, deepened the humanitarian crisis in this area.
Israeli authorities emphasize that his actions are aimed at Hamas, which does not want to agree to the extension of the truce and the release of still held hostages. On Thursday, Hamas rejected the latest Israeli proposal. The Islamist group declares that it is ready for an agreement, but it must guarantee the end of the war, as the original agreement provided.
The war in the Gaza Strip exploded after Hamas's attack to southern Israel on October 7, 2023. About 1,200 people were killed at that time, and 251 was abducted. The Israeli army believes that 24 hostages remain in captivity and the bodies of 35 more kidnapped are detained.
