Thousands of Swiss fans solemnly respected the commemorative moment, the arena holding its breath for a few tens of seconds. No noise disturbed the solemn minute held in memory of Emeric Ienaiin contrast to the reprehensible scenes that happened recently in Romania, at a match played at the National Arena.
Darius Olaru admits he and his team-mates were moved by the way FC Basel fans treated the moment.
Darius Olaru, impressed by the moment from the start: “Civilization!”
“Right after the moment of silence, after the referee blew the whistle, my colleague, Șut, told me: “WOW, it was unbelievable how quiet it was at the moment of silence!”. Civilization, what can I say?
There were a lot of our fans, I honestly expected them to come here in large numbers. They were by our side in every away game… Unfortunately, we didn't please them tonight with a positive result”, Olaru pointed out, before turning his attention to the causes of the failure in Basel.
We also noticed, on the bench, what happened during the minute of silence for Emeric Ienei. People totally respected the moment. We thank all Romanians and Swiss who preserved this solemn moment.

Olaru, conclusions after Basel – FCSB 3-1: “Honestly, only Shaqiri impressed me!”
Present at the mixed zone, Olaru drew the main conclusions of the defeat suffered in Switzerland:
“Unfortunately, we played a lot of time with a man down. I think if we played 11 vs. 11 we would have had a big chance because we had a good game, we ran for each other. With more chances, we could have got more even with a man down.
From the field, I felt like we could have gotten more out of it. They scored the second goal with a chance, and in the third they caught us open in transition and scored again. It's frustrating, I felt I played a good match.
I don't think so [că e cel mai frumos gol marcat în carieră]I didn't even get to see the replay. From the field, it didn't seem like such a beautiful success.
I saw that a colleague was coming from the left, but I decided in the moment to shoot at the goal and I managed this execution.
I think that even with a man down we managed the match well, we had very good situations to score… In a way, it's a bitter taste, we feel that we could have done more.
[Dificil de înfruntat un adversar de talia lui Shaqiri?] Honestly, we were talking at the end of the game.. If there was anyone who impressed me from their team, it would be him. He is a player who played at an important level and his quality was seen, he managed two goals, one assist.Otherwise, I don't think there was any player in their team that impressed me.
[Ați vorbit cu Târnovanu?] He's sorry too, he really didn't mean it… There are moments and moments, unfortunately. It was a decisive moment now, but he also got us out in other matches.”
We have to keep believing, I hope and believe that we have a chance in the group. All we have to do is fight in all the matches and play the same way, in Europe it's different and we need to raise our level. Here, the small details matter, it was also seen tonight.
