“Kapustnik pie without dough can be served as an independent dish or as a side dish for meat. Combine cabbage with fried onions and carrots, eggs, add semolina and spices – the mixture can be sent to the oven,” the website says.
Ingredients:
- 800 g cabbage;
- two carrots;
- 150 g bell pepper;
- two leeks;
- six stalks of parsley;
- one bunch of dill;
- 3 tbsp. l. semolina;
- 1⁄2 tsp. baking powder;
- 1⁄2 tsp. salt;
- 1⁄2 tsp. allspice ground;
- 1⁄2 tsp. caraway;
- three eggs.
Preparation
- Grate the cabbage onto a coarse grater, cut the pepper into cubes, onion into slices, finely chop the greens, and cut the carrots into strips.
- Fry the onions and carrots in a frying pan until soft.
- Combine cabbage, fried onions and carrots, peppers, herbs, yolks, salt, pepper, cumin and semolina. Mix thoroughly.
- Beat the egg whites and stir into the vegetable mixture.
- Cover the pan with parchment and lay out the cabbage mixture.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 170°C for 50–60 minutes.
