Medical problems continue for real madrid. The “blanco” club confirmed that Daniel Carvajal (33 years old), the captain of the team, will be unavailable for two to three months after suffering another injury to his right knee.

In an official statement, Real Madrid announced that the defender will have to undergo an arthroscopy to remove an intra-articular loose body in his right knee.

According to the Spanish media, the estimated recovery period is around 8–12 weeks, which means that the Spaniard could not return until 2025.

It is another blow for Carvajal, who had just returned from another injury. He came on in El Clasico with Barcelona on Sunday in the 72nd minute.

A recurring problem for Carvajal

More serious is the fact that the injury is to the same knee where, last season, the 33-year-old defender suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, an injury that then kept him off the pitch for almost nine months.

Following tests carried out by the club's medical services, Dani Carvajal was diagnosed with the presence of an intra-articular loose body in his right knee.
The player will undergo an arthroscopy in the next period.

The good news for Madrid is the return of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who can cover the right-back position, while Federico Valverde also showed he can perform on that flank, starting in the same position against Barcelona.

Carvajal, sold and bought back by Real Madrid

Quoted at 8 million euros on Transfermarkt, Daniel Carvajal was transferred in 2013 from Bayer Leverkusen, for which he had played only one season, the Germans purchasing him even from the “galacticos”.

After a year spent in Germany, Carvajal returned to Madrid and has 436 official matches in the “blanco” shirt, managing 14 goals and 65 assists. For the Spanish national team, the right-back has 52 caps, the first being in 2014.
