Buzek: We need to prepare for Putin's worst intentions

– We have to hope that things will go well, have the feeling that a good future awaits us, so that we don't worry. However, we must prepare for the worst. We have to assume the worst-case scenario and prepare according to that scenario. This is a rule that should apply to us, says Prof. Jerzy Buzek, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and President of the European Parliament, Honorary Chairman of the EFNI Program Council.

Recent years have brought us, Poland and Europe, many turbulences. We had the COVID-19 pandemic, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and growing tensions in relations with the US. How should Poland and the European Union behave in the face of these turbulences? What should we focus on to ensure the safety and competitiveness of the European economy? How to ensure some independence from what is happening outside? Is the vision of the war spreading beyond the borders of Ukraine and the escalation of Russian aggression realistic?
