“Narcos” in real life: Russian special services detained members of the Colombian Cali cartel with 570 kilograms of cocaine
A complex and multi-stage operation to eliminate cocaine drug trafficking was carried out by FSB and FCS officers for several years.
Recently, information was received that a cargo vehicle was delivered to Russia from Peru in a partially disassembled form – it could not be restored, and this raised questions. Customs officers came to the conclusion that “foreign objects” may be hidden in components and assemblies.
After monitoring the movement of the cargo, it was possible to identify two foreigners who came to Moscow to dismantle non-working units. Both have long been known as members of an international drug cartel.
Later, the suspicions were confirmed; in the territory of one of the warehouses near Moscow, they removed briquettes with cocaine from one of the units and transferred them to another cache in a cargo container. Next, the container had to be sent to the European Union.
The men were detained. A criminal case was opened against them. The special services also seized 570 kilograms of drugs. Their wholesale price on the black market is one and a half billion rubles. Retail exceeds 5.5 billion.
