The Romanian Football Federation announced this morning the numbers with which the “tricolors” will evolve at the game against the Republic of Moldova. On the list are 26 players, the absentees being the defenders Andrei Rațiu and Andrei Burcă.

The match with Moldova will be very difficult, I tell you. I saw them playing with Italy, they could win there. I saw the match with Israel, against players of upper individual value, and managed to mark.
We can't get out of the idea that we get on the ground and win the match. Especially since we will play with a team tomorrow … no player has played with the other so far, never! And in two days we have to do this, to bring them to think in the same direction, to speak the same language, to support themselves, to enhance their qualities.
We neglect one thing. We are talking about the team that was, the group that was. 16 players in that lot have not played. Eight have long -term injuries, another 6 with repeated injuries, others played less for other reasons: Răzvan Marin, Man … in times when I needed them as air.
There are 7-8 others who changed the teams and needed 2-3 months to return. Players with long -term absences: Drăgușin, Moruțan, Racovițan, Olaru, Mihăilă, Screciu, Florinel Coman, Cicâldău. There were also Bîrligea, Denis Drăguș, Ianis, Bancu, Adrian Şut. Without a team another 5-6: Puscaș, Niță, Rus. Now we are starting to make a reconsideration of the presence in the national team, we try to build a team for the future.

Not to look like Stephen the Great, I had two days of preparations. It is important to be psychologically prepared, we discussed with boys some principles. I have players who are proud of them qualitatively. We hope to change things for the better. If we are disciplined and we will have the initiative, the results will come, and the spectators will return to the team.

It will be the sixth historical party between the two selected, the first taking place on June 1, 1996. The previous five, all in training parties, had the same denouement: the victory of Romania, the last 5-0 in the autumn of 2022, at which point Edi Iordănescu was a selector.
