The SRI does not have the ability to eliminate the Russian influence in Romania, warns a well-known insatisfaction and analyst: “It is a specific practice of KGB”
The SRI does not now have the ability to carry out the mission announced by the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, to fight and eliminate the Russian influence, warned Professor Armand Goșu, a specialized historian on the ex-Soviet space.

Armand Goșu stated, in an interview published by News.ro on Sunday, that the version launched in the public space, according to which the secret services would have warned in advance on the Russian hybrid attack, is just a handling from the KGB textbooks.
According to him, it is unlikely that the Romanian intelligence services have reported to the responsible policies that are happening.
“I can say any secret services from us! It is unlikely that this has happened! of manipulation, coverage, mystification of the truth specific to the secret services! who want to remove any suspicion on them and throw the suspicion on the politicians: “Well, we are impeccable, we are not behind Georgescu! I have seen things like that, it's a specific practice of KGB ”said Armand Goșu.
Asked if the SRI has the ability to eliminate the Russian influence from Romania, the historian replied: “Now he doesn't have it! Maybe in the future … with a new leadership, maybe they will have. Now, no!”
President Nicușor Dan said on Tuesday, in Timisoara, that the future civil director of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) will have the priority to combat Russian interference.
The head of state stressed that polls showing an approval rate of 10-15% for Vladimir Putin represents “A serious national security problem”. “The intelligence services must defend the national security and promise that, when a civil director will take over the management, I will make sure that this will happen”he said.
Nicușor Dan spoke at the beginning of September about the appointments to SRI and SIE, saying it is “A sensitive discussion”but he wanted to say that there will be people in society, with experience.
