In 2023, he ran for the presidency, but in the second round he lost to the current head of state Peter Pavel.
In October 2025, parliamentary elections will be held in the Czech Republic. As the latest surveys demonstrate, the Babish party has the highest chances to win, E15 said. The local publication Publico wrote that recently Babish has tightened anti -Ukrainian rhetoric. In an effort to drag voters, he, in particular, “uses the thesis of social benefits supposedly provided to Ukrainians instead of the support of Czech mothers.”
Pavel warned: there are no guarantees that military assistance to Ukraine from the Czech Republic after the parliamentary elections will remain.
